The car was not going very fast as she was just turning left at the intersection where the hotel is located. They both got out of the car and were actually relieved to see there was no body damage. Even the wheel itself looked okay but clearly the A-arm had bent as a result of hitting the curb.
I have obtained the insurance company photographs which confirm this as well. Not one body panel on the car was damaged, no airbags deployed nor was there any serious damage. All the damage was of the simple bolt-off, bolt-on repair variety that could have been done by a weekend hobbyist. Also as expected, Mercury Insurance concluded it would be more cost effective to pay off the car and then sell the car at an auction.
